This is Bruce. everyone calls him Bruce Lee. He is trouble.

Been some busy weeks, but winding down with our last week of teaching. Today we went up Table Mountain in Cape Town. It was very spectacular. It’s a very steep mountain, almost vertical on the front side, and then it just flattens out completely to a big open space on top.

I put up some pictures of the awesome kids at the pre-school. Also some of the amazing views from on top of Table Mountain!

Hey Adan, thanks for the update. Spectacular views over Capetown and some fun looking kids. You have to show Bruce Lee some video of his namesake. It might be scary but it will be cool to him (eventually).

thanks also for the flight details. who gets to sit in 11b, do the other two have to stand?

you and dan are stuck for 12 hours in qatar? what is the next leg of your flight after that?

I will use info provided to find an apprpriate connection for steph to join us in ethiopia and probably post that flight info in a follow on comment to this blog.

relish every moment and pinch each other and yourselves to remind you what an unforgetable time you are experiencing every day!

below are stephanie’s connection details from Doha to Addis. you guys are scheduled to arrive into Doha Sunday March 14th, 7:55 pm. Stephanie departs 4 hours later to Addis.

The most direct flight I could find unfortunately, has what will be by then, after alreay travelling for a whole day, a brutal 4 hour stop in Bahrain. She the connects onto the (gulp) 4:00 am flight to Addis! (don’t fall asleep in the airport and miss this flight or … you’re grounded… in Bahrain!

Stephanie, not to worry, we won’t book a full day of touristing upon your arrival into Addis 8:00 am Monday March 15th. We will have only just arrived there ourselves after the trans-atlantic the Frankfurt to addis leg so we will be booking in a fair degree of sleeping in. (except of course Bucky, who will be actively kicking open the market stalls at dawn the first day.) bloody keener.

Looking forward to seeing you soon.

PS I am off to Wyoming to ski next week. 250 inches on snow so far this year, 5 feet last week!

PPS I am drinking Durbanville Hills Shiraz 2005 as I write this, very nice. Bought in honour of your locale. The wine bottle label has picture of Table Mountain and the back notes claim “The breathtaking views of Table Mountain from Durbanville Hills winery are the inspiration behind our wines. Cool air and rolling mists off the Atlantic Ocean extend the ripening periods of the grapes with consistent rainfall and restricted yields – ideal for the creation of intensely flavoured fruity wines.”

Do I detect a hint of French oak barrel ageing giving the wine a rich berry and plum palate….perhaps pepper and spice aromas…
